Wow – time just seems to be flying by! Beatles puppies are five weeks old today. They moved outside to the puppy barn last weekend and have been enjoying the bigger play area but aren’t quite as sold on the cold nights. Good thing they all have great coats! Today was picture day as well as another de-worming. The de-worming medicine actually seems to taste ok and they don’t mind it but they weren’t as sure about standing alone on the table and “stacking”. They are really fun at this age… starting to become little individuals, exploring, playing, snoozing…..

Beatle puppy update – three weeks
As some of you have probably noticed I’m still figuring out this blog thing…. I am having trouble making it do what I think I want it to do so I apologize in advance if this blog seems cumbersome.
Beatles puppies are a little over three weeks old and one of them is complaining loudly as I type! I’m pretty sure it’s Katie’s chocolate girl <grin>. They had their first solid dinner tonight and I’m sure they are wearing more than they ate! The puppies are starting to become little individuals. They bark and growl at each other, bark at us when mom goes outside, and are learning to come running for the chow.
Beatle is a great mom! Milks like a goat and loves her puppies. She has found her mission in life and is all about being a mom. I’m working on getting pictures added. The ones below were taken last week and we’ll be adding to them this week.

July 14th
Today is one of those beautiful summer days we have occasionally in Ellensburg <translation – no wind> that remind us all why we love living here! So today we put out the wading pool for the puppies and filled it up with just a couple of inches of water – what fun they were. If they were out of the water they wanted in – If they were in the water they wanted out <what is this?>. After just a few minutes of high stepping and trying to figure it out they sure started enjoying it. Hopefully the weather will hold for the next week and they will get a lot of time to enjoy the puppy pool.
Lil Bear’s puppies are seven weeks old today, and Shimmer’s will be seven weeks old on Thursday. Thursday they have their first vet visit and get their well puppy exam Our vet is excellent with the puppies and always does a great job at making the puppies first visit to the vet a good one. Turner’s puppies turn six weeks old on Friday and so they will not have their first vet visit for another week or so.

July 9th
Yesterday Turner’s puppies (the chocolates) got moved outside. They were escaping out of the whelping box and exploring not only my office but other parts of the house as well – bad puppies! <smile>. Today everyone got their first shot (a parvo only shot) and de-wormed again. While they are loving all their playmates – that whole shot thing…. they’re not so impressed with it.
I can’t believe that in only two weeks Lil Bear and Shimmer’s puppies will start going to new homes! Next week when the weather calms down a little (no wind) we’ll fill up the kiddy pool and see what they think about wading I can’t wait!
